In the first half of my academic career in teaching and research I acquired in-depth competencies in many research areas, i.e. political communication, media communication, corporate communication, and corpus linguistic quantitative and qualitative methods, including Tools and Software for corpus-based and corpus-driven data-exploration. In addition, I have published different peer-reviewed monographs, volumes, and papers at prestigious international publishing-houses. I also organized panels at world congresses such as AILA, IPrA, and IGALA.
I actively pursue science communication with different stakeholders from media, politics, and civil society. My interest in emerging social and technological issues inspires me to carry out research on Computer-Mediated Communication and on communication in offline media. For an active science communication, I present my research on communication in society at conferences with policy makers such as my panel on the representation of “refugees” and “migrants” in discourses of media and politics across European countries and languages (invitation to the Jean Monnet Conference in Brussels/EU) or at the Bavarian Research Institute for digital Transformation at the Bavarian Academy of Science.
Since 2020, I have been establishing the Linguistics of Diversity and Inclusion and have since successfully represented this discipline at international congresses. I maintain international collaborations with colleagues from the University of Cambridge, Sorbonne Nouvelle, Università degli Studi di Milano, and Université Paris Nanterre in the field of the language of diversity and inclusion in Computer-Mediated Communication. Those projects are based on the usage of corpus linguistic methods including tools and software for the quantitative and qualitative contrastive analysis across several languages, cultures, and countries.
PhD at the University of Regensburg, the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg, and at the Alpen-Adria-University of Klagenfurt, completed with the acquisition of the doctoral degree with the highest grade of very good with distinction (in Germany: summa cum laude) at the Alpen-Adria-University of Klagenfurt
Topic of the dissertation: Modal verbs in political argumentation in federal press conferences. This dissertation focuses on persuasive argumentation through modal verbs in political and media interaction. Corpus linguistic quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the book. (double and blind peer-reviewed publication in the renowned series "Linguistik - Impulse und Tendenzen")

In addition to the University of Bayreuth, the project is associated with the Bavarian Research Institute for digital Transformation (BidT) at the Bavarian Academy of Science. The project is funded by BIdT and the Bavarian Ministry of Arts and Sciences. Funding: ca. €400,000 over four years.

I also participated in the interdisciplinary lecture on "Digital Sciences", organized by computational scientists and applied mathematicians.
